Make the blade - check
Make the guard - check…..
REmake the guard - working on that
Make tons of little spikes for the thing - later
Make the handle - later
Somehow make the wrappings on the blade……. - later
Gloss, paint, and wrap the handle! - later
If anyone has any tips on how I should do one of these steps I love suggestions :] Considering I’m new to this any help I can get would be appreciated.
Ok so I forgot to start this yesterday but I got all my stuff yesterday, dropped around eighty bucks for it all in all. Not bad considering all I got.
-1 workbench
-4 handfiles (different grades)
-1 set of fingerfiles
-1 woodplane
-2 woodgraters (1 small one large)
-3 different sandpaper sets (220, 150, and 60)
-6 sandpaper sponges
-a set of gloves
-4 coping saw blades
-and a MOTHER FUCKIN RED ROLLIE STOOL!
Besides that I just spent a bunch of time cutting out the general shape of the blade and making it relatively even, later I will go and start on making the shape of the guard and maybe start on the spikes. I need to wait until monday to use the drill press at school so I can make the slots and such for things to fit into the guard.

I know, cliche right? But introductions seem necessary so here it goes. Hello, the name of my blog is “Sand Crazy” which I will explain later but if anyone would like to call me something call me Delirium, it is what I prefer to be called online.
Within the past year I have picked up something I have wanted to do for a long time, Cosplaying. Now my costuming skills are pretty crappy, I will be the first to admit that. I do however believe my woodworking and pinkfoam skills are sufficient to take on my favorite aspect of cosplay making. The props. Props to me are the most important part, when people run around with a half assed sword made of duct tape it almost offends me. They could have dropped 100 bucks on the costume, why not spend some on a quality prop? So I plan to change that, I want to make quality props that people are proud to add to their cosplays. Something people will admire with and without the accompanying cosplayer. So without further ado here is my blog about designing, crafting, and distributing these props I make all the while learning the tricks of the trade. I warn you now I am an avid fan of video games and high fantasy so there may be things like that muddling up the blog itself from time to time. Other than that if anyone has any comments or advice for me feel free to message me or comment it here.
Thanks,
Delirium
